A Memo to Self
Soul Snack 105/13 ... A Memo to Self
(A Postscript to Homosexuality - the deadliest sin?)
Suspicion had been aroused in me that the previous two SoulSnacks may be divisive and beckon response.
These SoulSnacks have gained much Christian attention across the social media and FaceBook in particular. They have generated gracious support, created new friendships, willing agreement and unexpected good-will. A special thanks as well to the warmth of some wise responses.
Conversely these recent SoulSnacks have broken friendships, inspired vitriol, constructed a platform for undue judgements and attracted energetic condemnation.
The pulsating venom of impolite Christian condemnation has demonstrated that the enemy of Christ is still within the pew, adorned in white Sunday gloves and sports polished Florshiems.
When the archangel Michael disputed with satan over the body of Moses, Michael still refused to bring any condemnation against satan.
But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn... (Jude 9)
How correct Michael would have been to condemn satan as a murderer or a liar for instance, but he refused. This cosmic dispute did not issue in accusations and name calling from an archangel.
Here is the MEMO TO ME:
Condemnations only come from satan; when being abused, accused or wronged by brothers (and others) remember an angel.
Today's Soul Snippet:
The measure of Christ in our lives is first love - not learning.
