Homosexuality - the deadliest sin? ~ Part A
Soul Snack 103/13 ... Homosexuality - the deadliest sin?
A very recent and dissatisfying unfinished chat has prompted a fresh leap for me into scripture again upon this now tired subject.
The topic of this conversation was - is the sin of homosexuality any greater sin than pride, lying of theft? Almost in an instant my spirit registered a diluting of what to my mind is the unspeakable BUT I am not a Roman Catholic and have never believed in varying degrees of sin. The question was as sincere as the questioner's faith remains tested and deep.
So is there an extra weight or gravity upon homosexuality as a sin?
Much is riding upon this answer for the entirety of modern Christendom; there is now a desert of religious thinking blowing into Christ's body. There are more practising homosexuals claiming Christianity than ever before. Many Christians now equally claim a divine concurrence with such activity. After all - all Christians will still sin until the day they die (can't argue that point); hence if all sins are equal - surely practising homosexuality is no more heinous than the odd lie, the expanded proud chest or the self-promoting ambition within a workplace?
A mere twelve hours subsequent to my conversation I stumbled upon this salient quote penned by A.W.Pink... "Christ has not died to purchase for His people an indulgence for them to live in sin...". I couldn't agree more!
Now I have still not answered the initial question because there is much more ahead tomorrow.
BUT today and always you can still choose faithfulness to the Lord who died to remove sin not excuse it.
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. (1 Cor 6:18)
