Of Rainbows & Dust
Wide and young eyes gazed into a new distance full of wonder. As he marveled his eyes 'grew'.
Unaccustomed to the expanse before his eyes, they became somewhat transfixed.
The horizon was bright and very blue. Its rainbow suggested the dark wall of rain had collapsed. He mused - had there been lightning too?
As his mind pondered upon what his eyes saw, he inclined his head downward. This was a natural response, not a deliberate act of his mind.
It was as if his spirit controlled his muscles, that he would now peer to dust.
This lad was being prepared by the Lord.
Subtly he realized, deep inside, it did not matter whether he was gobsmacked by beautiful skies or peering into dirt, what his eyes saw did not add or detract from the truth of his life because:
it would always be well with his soul.
But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord’s praise, for He has been good to me. (Psalm 13:5-6)
