An Inkling of a New Ark

The Ark of Noah was God's appointed vessel of salvation.

"Mankind is in love with iniquity." ~ A.W. Tozer

Tozer is as correct prior to the flood as he is still correct today.

For as in the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. (Matthew 24:37) .

... if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly ... (2 Peter 2:5 - 6 NIV)

Noah preached righteousness, could this weight now be upon the Lord's righteous today?

The preaching of righteousness is again to herald the day of judgement.

Christ hides our unrighteousness with His righteousness, He covers our disobedience with His obedience, He shadows our death with His death that the wrath of God cannot find us. ~ Henry Smith

This is what we must understand, apply ... although grace is shown to the wicked, they do not learn righteousness. (Isaiah 26:10)

Righteousness must be preached first, first shading the impending face of judgement. The grace of warning must be offered.

Judgement and justice do not act independently.

In Revelation 18 the final announcement of judgement has been already demonstrated by the opening of seven seals, the seven plagues and the seven bowls of God's wrath. And, Babylon is judged.

(A brief aside, note - the Bible places Babylon and Jerusalem as competitors. And, Babylon in Genesis 11 is mankind 'raising its united 'fists at Heaven'.)

Another Ark is needed today. The first had only one 'sailor' described as righteous, only our good Lord knows how many today.

What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:9)
