Remember the ten lepers Jesus healed? (Luke 17:11-19) They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us.
Give me understanding that I may live. (Psalm 119:144) Scan your imagination for a moment, what did you see? Yes, we each think we know the best for us.
To my mind 'obedience' is easy to say but ridiculously hard to do.
It is both a great and troubling thing to travel with Jesus on His terms, to name Him as Lord.
Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.
I sat with the Lord thinking this would be a very easy matter, and so I began to get still.
But Jesus gave no reply, and Pilate was amazed.
It is not enough for the believer to begin to pray, nor to pray correctly, nor is it enough to continue for a time to pray.
