Yearning for Holiness
Let the Word of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. (Colossians 3:16)
The more a man grows in holiness the more he sees his unholiness, and so his heart saddens.
Beware the fading heart and the dulling lights of devotion, these are a warning.
Take note when the seasons of service become consigned to 'adventure'.
Observe when the audience of One morphs into a cast of merchants, or classroom scholars. Let The Word remain in you.
The greatest gifts are kindled and the most important transactions occur upon the knees.
