Wrapped in Poverty
Soul Snack 244/14 ... It could be said that:
if the world was described as the Garden of Eden it is a garden from which God, not Adam and Eve, has been banished. (A Horst Preissnitz inspired thought.)
There is an unadulterated truth to this assessment; God is noticeably absent from human lives. I suspect too that the God who sent His only son is also most distressed at this reality.
So how would God appeal to be present this Christmas?
Maybe Heaven would speak something like this?
Please add faith, hope and love to your shopping list this Christmas - but permit Me to remind you (so you may not miss them and I am not further banished) that each gift comes absent of any adornment, is found in a manger and is wrapped in poverty.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)
"Christians see God not only in pleasures & palaces but also in the barnyard and stables of life." ~ John Maxwell
Today's Soul Snippet:
"Christmas is the registration of God; it is the counting of the infinite by the finite." (Luke 2:1)
