Why Look Forward From Christmas?#
We shall celebrate many things this Christmas, but let us remember that our God is Lord of all history. He knows the end from the beginning, for He created both.
God promised that His Messiah (messiah means 'sent one') would come, and He delivered.
God promised the inclusion of all nations, and He delivered.
God promised the perfection of creation (sadly we are all too aware of creation's brokenness), and He will deliver. It is then Jesus returns to wrap up time and bring everlasting righteousness. The Lord's previous faithfulness proves His words are reliable, without fault.
The celebration of our Lord's birth reminds each of us tomorrow. Why look forward from Christmas?
The 1st coming guaranteed the 2nd coming, and the arrival of the new heavens and the new earth.
Then I saw "a new heaven and a new earth," for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. (Revelation 21:1)
The best is yet to come and can never be lost again.
