Jesus backs virtue!
Clergy are no longer the keeper of the keys.
Amidst all the centuries since Christ, Christians live in an increasingly charmed season.
Post the industrial revolution the western world gained much privilege. Sufficient education was made possible to dive into The Word. The opportunity for Biblical devotions became available to all.
Yet study of the Bible, and the meeting around The Word is not to quench some thirst for knowledge, for knowledge does not draw us to purity but to pride.
... We know that we all possess knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. (1 Corinthians 8:1)
If a group exists for the promotion of knowledge, or devotion becomes measured, each become ineffective and unproductive. Activity no more measures righteousness than knowledge can measure humility.
Remember - those with the least knowledge Jesus honors the most.
...Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of this world to be rich in faith?... (James 2:5)
Virtue is rarely found in the abundance of knowledge. Seek His virtue first and the blessing of His righteousness will become your footstool.
