When truth is absolute!
Truth is always the strongest argument. ~ Sophocles
For truth to be 'absolute' it must be true in all times and in all places.
Jesus claimed early in His ministry He would destroy the Temple and rebuild it after only three days. This was a massive affront to the proud keepers of ancient religious paradigms. (See John's gospel 2:18-22)
Foreboding Jesus' end Pontius Pilate gazed into the eyes of Jesus and questioned Him: 'what is truth?' (John 18:38)
Jesus had already promised the impossible and very soon would demonstrate the veracity of His prediction, even to Pilate.
When a man apprehends Jesus as He describes Himself, this man gains access to all absolute truth, and the Holy Scriptures become of daily value to him. His soul becomes increasingly thirsty. He begins mining the Bible to scour for all its truth. He will find it.
- The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him IN TRUTH. (Psalm 145:18)
- I have not spoken in secret ... I have not said ... to seek Me in vain. I, the Lord, speak THE TRUTH; I declare what is right. (Isaiah 45:19)
- Whoever believes in Me as THE SCRIPTURES HAVE SAID... (John 7:38a)
- I am the way, THE TRUTH and the life, no-one comes to the Father but through Me. (John 14:6)
The Last Word:
The Bible is no mere parcel of truth, it is the author of truth, the arbiter of truth and the only compendium of truth. You can absolutely TRUST IT!
