When the Soul is Stampeded
The soul is as tender as the body. It too hurts inconsolably and even inexplicably.
Each human soul mirrors the hidden workings of their spirit. It reflects both inner pains and inner joys.
Loss crushes the soul, as a boulder does the body.
Lost livelihoods, lost relationships, lost dignity and so much more can all crush the soul. When these (and other soul crushers) coincide the soul may well feel as if it has been stampeded.
The LORD is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him. (Psalm 92:15)
Jesus is the perfect rock for any stampeded soul, because in Him there is no weakness.
In Jesus exists no fissure, crack or point of breaking.
Because He is both upright and God He is fully able, indeed desiring to receive all of my cares.
I see so many people in pain, deep pain, yet it remains - for they do not know how to jettison it.
Jesus can be dumped upon continually, and will NEVER crumble from the load I give Him.
His love and strength for me has no 'use-by' date. Jesus can never fail at being MY rock.
He will never be destroyed, crushed or stampeded.
Crushed souls seek an uncrushable Jesus. It is with Jesus they invest in their own spiritual well-being, sitting under His comfortable and comforting shade.
Jesus' invites:
Come with Me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest. (Mark 6:31)
Today Jesus carries all things (Hebrews 1:3), it is a simple task for Him to carry you too.
