When God Crowns...
Everybody does this!
Who does not seek favor upon earth?
There is nary a soul with dusty feet who does not pursue a crown or position self for such.
We scan, search and seek earthly blessings - consequently heavenly ones sit blindsided by our desires, unseen.
OR - life has become so weighed that heaven's blessings are buried under earth's burdens.
We first need to refresh the memory files of the Bible's timeless truths to each disciple:
for we all have been blessed by every blessing in the heavenly realms.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3)
These are the best blessings because when God crowns His own:
- there is no error or charge,
- they have not been withheld in any manner, every blessing has been given from He who is generous without finding fault and
- they won't fade, they are eternal.
BUT ... my carnal heart is very quick to discount the value of these spiritual favors because I continue consumed by the hunt for physical ones.
To seek the happiness of earth is life's default position; it ignores the extravagant splashes of heaven upon my life.
This is an exchanging of my endless tomorrows for my temporary todays.
When I want wealth, health, comfort, promotion, honor and a whole lot more (for I suspect this is good for me) I fail to grasp what I have - that which is already best.
When God crowns He gives the Crown of Beauty for all those who are lost to the favors of this earth.
