What price is freedom...?
What price is freedom from sin?
It is the 'same price' as our Lord paid.
Freedom from sin is apprehended by self-crucifixion.
Self-crucifixion first lays hold of Jesus' own Gethsemane, and then appropriates it for self.
If a man overwhelmed in sorrow has his mates asleep behind him...
If a man who faces the ground in deep torment prays take this cup away from me...
If a man filled with sorrow cries out his own - not my will but Yours be done...
then the indulgence that drives self-favor falls and dies, sin has lost its stranglehold.
The Last Word:
The price of freedom from sin is death within.
So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. (Romans 6:11-12)
