What Do I Do When My Faith Is Silenced?
If I listed everything the church could say ten years ago that she can’t say today—you would be horrified. Without a miracle, our children and grandchildren will have to survive in a world that will totally ban their faith—even scarier, they’ll do it without you.
It is hard to convince many Christians that they are losing their freedom of speech and religion. They either don’t believe it is happening, or they chalk it off to politics. But the erosion of liberty is not only real…it is the greatest threat western Christians have ever faced.
The doctrines of our faith that offend are the Cross, the Blood of Jesus, hell, sexual purity, and marriage. They are already being omitted by preachers who feel the heat. They’ll tell you it’s to reach a bigger audience—trust me, it’s the heat. ~ Mario Murillo
So what do I do when my faith is being silenced?
I speak up and so I lift up my shield of faith, even at personal cost!
Lay hold of this divine protection with all your might, alongside those who too stand safely behind theirs, who also accept there is no shrinking back.
Raise it high across your torso, don't hang it low near your knees.
The shield of faith blocks the fiery darts of the evil one, they fall harmless and quenched to earth.
The shield of faith can become wearisome and your strength sapped, call to the good Lord for His might - He looks for you, then stands beside you.
For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the entire earth, to strengthen those whose heart is true to Him. (2 Chronicles 16:9)
Today is the day to hold tight to the shield's hand strap, to stand convinced and firm - for you know that after you have resisted for a little while, peace and rest arrives tomorrow.
Christ's followers cannot expect better treatment in this world than their Master had. ~ Matthew Henry
