Who Am I Without You Lord?
When my feet drag and my eyes hang low...
When my joints ache and my muscles abuse...
When my soul flees the crowds and my feet happily follow...
exhaustion, weariness and sapping have become the indicators of Divine shoulder taps to slow.
In slowing there is the pressing of a re-set button, the pause that devotion may flow in. And then into this stillness my Lord enters to speak, promise and restore:
If my people would only listen to me,
if Israel would only follow my ways ...
you would be fed with the finest of wheat;
with honey from the rock I would satisfy you. (Psalm 81:13 &16)
It is to my Lord I come for strength, my Lord alone. My Lord gives me the choicest and sweetest of foods; these He has already placed on His table prepared for me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit to sustain me. (Psalm 51:12)
O Lord that I would recall the days of your first fruits when I was eager; restore the willingness that strengthened me. Amen
... may evil no longer find lodging with me. (Psalm 55:15d)
Sin saps me of strength that my spirit may wither and die.
The God of Israel gives power and strength to His people. (Psalm 68:35b)
I am nothing without You Lord, but everything with you. What good is an island absent of life, a soul thirsting for water or a body lacking in strength? But my hope is in You, You are my rock, my redeemer, my all in all. Amen.
... they will sing, ‘All my fountains are in you.’ (Psalm 87:7)
