Waiting at His promises...
A man would be better to say there is no God than to say that God is unfaithful. ~ Thomas Brooks
It is a madness. The human condition is to disbelieve God and deny His goodness. This remains rampantly strong, yet there is no fault in Him. His witness is as wide as the skies, His voice stronger than the storms and creation proclaims the works of His hands.
Draw please from these four small wells of faith:
- Tarry at His promise and God will meet you there. ~ D. L. Moody
God is not a man, that He should lie, not a son of man, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill? (Numbers 23:19)
- Understand - faithfulness is the scaffold of God's heart.
The Lord is faithful to all His promises and loving towards all He has made. (Psalm 145:13b)
- Gaze at God's throne and see His beaming faithfulness.
Love and faithfulness go before Him. (Psalm 89:14)
- Dwell with the Lord and so shelter behind your shield.
His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. (Psalm 91:14)
John Calvin once observed - God is always like Himself. The Lord continues to choose for faithfulness, this is His only way.
My choice is to choose His choice. For, the time is soon to come when reason will prove that both our faith and His faithfulness were correct. Tarry at His promises until they are no more.
