Uncluttered Joy
Be holy as I AM holy. (Leviticus 11:44)
This command is strong. And, not to be diluted.
Holiness is the call of truth and virtue. It is a separation from the world, for by faith we have overcome it. Yet we compromise.
There is no polite way to sacrifice holiness, thus not pleasing God.
The apostle Paul repeats:
- Be wise to what is good and innocent to what is evil. (Romans 5:19)
- God has not called us for impurity but holiness. (1 Thessalonians 4:7)
- Abstain from every form of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:22)
May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other, and for everyone else...May He strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all His holy ones. (1 Thessalonians 3:12-13)
Holiness mimics our Savior, honors our salvation and keeps the believer safe. It leads them ever forward to the uncluttered joy of righteousness.
