True Life#
True living begins with seeing ourselves as we are and not as we should be.
The son got up and went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. (Luke 15:20)
Jesus knows our rough edges but refuses to turn His back to us, even if we have to Him. We can run to our Savior as yet another prodigal son or daughter.
We have the Savior of boundless compassion, infinite patience, unbearable forgiveness and love that keeps no record of wrongs. With this Savior we are safe.
There exists a loud and very false self-narrative… no-one will like you as you are, so invent a new self that all will like. Being aware of your pain or sadness, being aware of the gaffs and the blunders creates an empty space into which Jesus can be allowed to enter.
We live well by His grace, but poorly behind our masks.
