Tickling Ears
Heresy is the leprosy of the head. ~ John Trapp
Julian of Norwich (1342-1416c) is credited with writing the earliest surviving book in the English language penned by a woman - Revelations of Divine Love.
Julian taught that God who does not get angry ensures all of mankind reaches heaven. All men will be saved.
There is nothing new about this (or any other) heresy.
2000 years ago the apostle Paul wrote:
Jesus delivers us from the wrath to come. (1 Thessalonians 1:10)
He also added:
In this way they always heap up their sins to the limit. The wrath of God has come upon them at last. (1 Thessalonians 2:16)
An unknown Christian author also wrote:
Man is destined to die once and then be judged. (Hebrews 9:27)
Sin is finite, it is measured. Only so much sin will Heaven tolerate before acting. (Remember - Sodom and Gomorrah)
Because God measures sin, there will be an end to it, a day of reckoning.
Armageddon is as certain as Jesus' return.
PLEASE NOTE: while wickedness is always measured on earth righteousness knows no measure. There is no end to living for the betterment of another ahead of self.
Julian of Norwich only taught what itching ears want to hear. Nothing has changed to this day. There is nothing new under the sun.
The wind of error blows very long in the same direction. ~ anon.
Yesterday's heresies still shout today, while yesterday's righteousness thrives and speaks very well today - although unheard.
