Blind-sided by a baying wolf!
Jesus largely 'led with His chin' during His remarkable three years of service in and around Galilee.
The Sermon on the Mount heralded Himself as 'a maverick'. He taught 'virtue' first and not 'law'. This assaulted the wickedness of His generation, and then all to come.
Jesus knew all folk perfectly. He began His teaching with man's universal fracture of self-understanding.
He taught:
Do not judge or you too will be judged... The measure you use will be measured to you. (Matthew 7:1-2)
We all hate hypocrisy, to a man. While I am consumed by the sins of others I am blind to the identical but larger sins that are mine.
Whatever bothers you in another is likely to be a blindside to self. ~ Scott Jeffrey
'There is an old legend of a wolf that preached against sheep stealing, so very many hunt down those sins in others that they gladly shelter in themselves.' (Charles Spurgeon)
All men cannot discern the deceits of their heart. But - the Lord can.
I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind... (Jeremiah 17:9)
The Last Word:
The wise pursue humility lest they fall forever under their own judgements.
