The Highway of Holiness
The Highway of Holiness is an unfamiliar path, at times barren and most lonely. It is unseen by the blind, those who do not know or seek God's ways.
The Highway is not the path of the infant, nor of the child. Only the willingly maturing will stay this difficult road.
It is the road of choice for those weathered by the seasons and battered by life's repeated storms.
Only those done with sin will choose this road. They don't step sideways for brief indulgent forays, or cut themselves spiritual slack. Each has chosen God's will for their lives against their own.
None at all are quickly done with sin. God withdraws sin ever so deliberately through the syringe of suffering.
Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body has finished with sin. As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. (1 Peter 4:1-2)
Hardship is the entry ramp to the Highway of Holiness, but the exit ramp is Heaven.
To those already upon this highway choose the blinkers of race horses; neither look to the right or to the left lest you be persuaded to take a side street and dissuaded from holiness.
Hate evil, love good.
