Under a piercing sun...

Blessed are those You choose
    and bring near to live in Your courts!
We are filled with the good things of Your house,
    of Your holy temple. (Psalm 65:4)

Hardship is most helpful. It fashions a man, turning his poverty of soul to a soul of true wealth. It is the fool, he who refuses to audit life, who does not gain from pain.

The fool despises his many days of cloudless skies where the high sun sears. He moans over those fiery stones that scorch his sandals soles. His sorrow brings tears, but truth eludes him.

He is no fool who seeks the dwellings of the Lord, he is filled with good things.

It is in the desert a man learns to long for the Lord.

O God, you are my God,
    earnestly I seek You;
My soul thirsts for Y
ou,
    my whole being longs for You,
in a dry and parched land
    where there is no water. (Psalm 63:1)

Today's Soul Snippet:

'I would rather walk with the broken than the blessed.'
