The Cave & the Classroom
There are only two seats of learning.
The first seat is in a college with many instructors. Here there are equally many and contrary opinions. This is confusing for the student.
The second seat is in a cave with only one instructor and straight thinking. This is clear to the student.
Within the cave there exists no contradictions, but in the college this is honored.
At Adam's creation he only knew truth, for anything else but truth would harm him (as it quickly did).
Mankind is made in God's image, hence his highest skill is reasoning, to find contradiction, to search for disagreement and so argue a case.
The highest attribute of the Lord is to know the truth and be convicted by that alone. Here truth cannot be up for debate.
- There were only two trees named in Eden - one has saved us, the other has seduced us.
- There were only two trees named in Eden - one agreed with God, the other has argued with Him.
The deception of the Tree of Knowledge is that it posts an alternate body of knowledge (evil), and hence a system of combative thinking to the Tree of Life. And then finally it denies/'replaces' the true knowledge from the Tree of Life.
Reason is now shifting ever farther from being reasonable. Reason does not reveal truth. Truth is apprehended by faith in Jesus alone. (John 14:6)
Until the good Lord returns faith must trump reason. Only then and then alone, will faith be vindicated and the world shall see the truth - that faith was always right.
It is the Tree of Life that rules by true faith. There are not two sources of wisdom.
The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails - given by ONE shepherd. (Ecclesiastes 12:11)
Eat of the Tree of Life, recline against it bough each morning; but please - take your axe to the Tree of Knowledge. Be warned of any additions to the truth from the Tree of Life.
