A PARABLE ~ The Cartons of Hope***

Into our contemporary moral morass Isaiah could have been (and is) prophesying. There is still nothing new under the sun.

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. (Isaiah 5:20-21)

They lack any understanding and are blind. Blind to their own deceits. Such proud ignorance is as spilled molasses that sticks to all who walk in it, quickly they slip over. Then others too are captured by that sweet-smelling scent, unwittingly, unknowingly they too fall.

The purveyors of wickedness fill their own carts with 'Cartons of Hope', inviting all bystanders to share their entrapping revelry and parading that all others may see.

Betterment is to be gained by drinking from the now available 'Cartons of Hope', this is their mantra. The longer those who climbed on the passing  carts remain, the more 'The Cartons of Hope' fall over, open and tear. Hope is lost, but the new 'believers' too have lost their sight.

Woe to those who call evil good, they are under the control of the evil one. (see 1 John 5:18-19)

The Last Word:

Here I am, I (still) stand at the door and knock... (Revelation 2:20a)
