The Blessing of Thirst
Soul Snack 195/10 ... God's trump card
It is many years since I have played cards, but I do recall that if I ever was sufficiently astute to realise I held the trump card, I would win.
How adept are you at discerning that you have been dealt a good hand? I trust you have far superior skills to mine.
Satan wants to trump your life's hand with suffering. He doesn't want you to see the good things God has given you. He hinders your belief in God's gifts to you. His malevolence to you is to obscure God's benevolence for you.
Burdens below so easily obscure blessings from above. Satan attacks those who resist him and Jesus' followers will suffer.
Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God's commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus. (Rev 12:17)
Yet God too still gives good to us in suffering, while satan attempts to trump God's gifts to us. In suffering, a thirsty soul is gained.
It is usually burdensome to gain a thirsty soul, but it is a divine blessing to keep it.
As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God. (Ps 42:1)
