Stepping out and staying dry.
Soul Snack 74/10 ... Crossing Jordan - B
Is the land you are in a desert?
Are you wandering in circles?
Have your goals and aspirations proved too elusive?
Do you just know that God has a better place for you?
Has God ever pointed you to another land?
Have you reached a place that is too daunting to proceed through?
Surely after forty years of 'circle work' in the desert, the Israelites had become accustomed to sand? Surely they were content with the heavenly food delivery? Maybe never buying new sandals brought them confidence in God? (Deut 29:5) I wonder if, even in the wilderness, they had become comfortable?
Yet, God had promised them so much better, the appointed time had now arrived. The new season was upon them, as were the steps of faith. They had to step into a flooded Jordan. Yet, a river in flood was not to engulf their faith.
Many are called to cross their own 'Jordan'.
Many walk in a wilderness that God wishes to release them from.
God has fertile land for all who would call Him Lord.
There are always daunting obstacles to move through before receiving God's goodness.
Yet, a torrential river, is not to flood faith, but to fund it.
It can be hard to take that first step, but it will be a lot harder not to.
Take the first step to ENJOY the miracle of 'dry land'.
"The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground." (Josh 3:17)
