Stareway to Heaven
Staring at heaven is unrequited. It does not offer answers to troubled or enquiring souls, but we all still do it.
We have all felt that even a fervent prayer may still fail.
Despair shrouds a soul should the human spirit realize its desires do not match the will of Heaven.
“Sometimes I go to God and say, 'God, if Thou dost never answer another prayer while I live on this earth, I will still worship Thee as long as I live and in the ages to come for what Thou hast done already. Amen'
God’s already put me so far in debt that if I were to live one million millenniums I couldn’t pay Him for what He’s done for me.” ~ Aiden Tozer
Should God call in a man's debt to Him, he could not stand; that is why the Lord called in Jesus instead.
Prayer may falter but Heaven is secure. It is often difficult, but give thanks in all outcomes, for no man will ever grasp the mind of Heaven anymore than his own pre-paid debt.
As I continue to wonder the nature of prevailing yet failing prayer, could its eternal value be for me - not found in the answer but in my refusal to lower my eyes away from Heaven?
It was not the answer to the prayer that kept me going, but the prayerful staring itself. This is my stareway to heaven.
