Seeded supernaturally within the peaceful and troubled soul alike is the unspoken notion that all perish. Eternally contrasted to this is the immortality of the Divine.
- He is permanent - I am passing.
- He is eternal - I am ethereal.
- He is immortal - I am not.
With these three sobering realities in mind there is an unfathomable security in:
... from everlasting to everlasting you are God. Ps 90:2c
This is an awe inspiring truth giving complete confidence for all of us to meet the changes and the chances of each fleeting day.
To lay hold of this truth is to maintain God in His proper place. It places me again at the base of His throne in dependent humility.
O Lord, please keep me conscious of my mortality. Amen
