Ever so gently caressing and soothing a distressed cerebellum an unseen poison flows.
As smooth as oil, as sweet as honey and as pleasant as any balm can be, it rolls lightly across the soul, subtley beginning its destructive processes.
Honey promotes health, poison pollutes health.
So frequently satan's first port of call on an individual is through their mind. It is from here he will exact his robbery upon both my vertical and horizontal relationships.
How can I recognise a smooth and sweet pollution when it tastes and feels so delightful?
Simply put, I need to audit self, become my own spiritual fruit picker.
To examine both the fruit of my mind and mouth is exceptionally healthy. These are the first steps I take in 'picking my own spiritual fruit.'
Possibly the easiest fruit to examine is the outpourings of my mouth. Jesus is so clear - the things of my mind and heart inevitably bubble or explode from my mouth. Verbal venom is never of the Lord. It is poison to both the giver and the receiver.
Speech that hurts always has the handiwork of the evil one. Hurtful speech destroys relationships. My mind is revealed in my speech.
For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. Matt 12:34b-35
Remember satan seeks my permanent destruction, Jesus died for my eternal construction.
It is Jesus' good desire to bring repair to my life, not to wreck it.
My mind is readily revealed in my mouth.
