'Be completely gentle and humble, bearing one another in love. Make every effort to keep... unity... through the bond of peace...as you were called to one God and Father of all ...' (Eph 4:1-6)
Fences are erected, security systems employed, bank accounts buoyed up. Today is increasingly owned by a legitimate and consuming pursuit for peace.
Refuge and rest are written with eternal precision on all our spirits. Yet completion still remains! My spirit is completely conscious of the rest removers.
There abides the noisy neighbour who ignores, the family that manipulates and that long severed fellowship. All (and so much more) conspire to rob me of peace.
My spiritual well-being is to choose for rest when my soul says rebel. Ill - health arrives when there is no self constraint in jettisoning the peace removers such as bitterness, resentment, anger, vengeance and un-forgiveness.
My spiritual rights are to not give as I have received. This is the selfless knowing that my legitimate response may well hurt he who hurt my peace even more. He who has robbed my peace may well long, even yearn for their peace too.
Through the grace of the Prince of Peace I am very well equipped to return to malevolence with mercy.
But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.(Eph 4:7)
I then too have my own fences and systems that will deliver me peace. My life will be one of well being.
