Soul Snack 9/87 ... Zeros and Heroes
Wonderment abundantly applied. A simple encounter with the supernatural.
The transfiguration has alway been a 'capturer' of one's imagination. To ponder it is to be introduced into a world of heavenly wonder. To be there surely would have been to experience the overlap of the natural and the supernatural.
... he (Jesus) took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray ... two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus ... Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him. Lk 9:28 - 32

As was Jesus' habit, He had withdrawn. He models devotion. He knew that in solitude heaven would open.
Those Jesus had with Him were those He would crush the shackles of evil with. The sons of thunder and the one who would gain the keys to heaven must see this! The transfiguration was to be God's investment in His church's future.

Jesus invests in exceptionally unlikely men, at times using exceptionally unlikely means.
How did He invest in you?
