The Seeker

Soul Snack 9/132 ... The Seeker

Lazily he strode across the unattended forecourt expanse. Usually people would be milling, each engaged in their own worlds and their own enterprises.

Why the emptiness? Why are they absent? Although he did enjoy the quietness.

Surely an event had occurred that he was not aware of! Maybe it was a public holiday? Had there been a tragedy? Or was he simply confused about the days?

He continued to shuffle with a lethargic hope that his musings may soon be satisfied. His meander easy and his effort inexpensive.

IN the millenia-old hard packed dust or in the sun drenched skies no answer became apparent. Even the loud-speakers that would normally trumpet across the masses were silent. But - he would pursue the empty silence to find his answers. He still purposed to follow the hollow with a naive hope.

In ignorance he shuffled, in hope he scanned the large area but in emptiness he would remain.

He had long lived walking where others hadn't, and seeking where others didn't. Nothing had changed this day either. He didn't understand it, but today was yet another metaphor for his life. He still found nothing.

Looking at nothing to find something really does sum up to my mind the foolishness of most today!

Seek the LORD while he may be found;
call on him while he is near. Is 55:6
