Gandhi's 7 Sins

Soul Snack 8/108 ... Gandhi's 7 Sins

Gandhi once reflected that there were 7 deadly sins in the world:
  • wealth without work,
  • pleasure without conscience,
  • knowledge without character,
  • politics without principle,
  • commerce without morality,
  • science without humanity,
  • worship without sacrifice ....
I wonder if Jesus may add 7 more:

  • to live with the Divine but not to love like the Divine,
  • to express faith but live without trust,
  • to receive but not to give,
  • to be forgiven but not to forgive,
  • to hold the truth, but not to share it,
  • to claim justice but not to give it, and finally
  • to hold His crucifixion for me without crucifying myself for Him.

Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Matt 22:37-40
