Kissing Tears
Soul Snack 184/13 ... Kissing Tears
As the sun descended Jesus withdrew down a dusty road. An eye-popping exchange between Jesus, His disciples and a greatly distressed Canaanite mother who loudly pursued Him, confronted any witnesses.
This unnamed woman persisted in her raucous cries to Jesus, for her daughter suffered terribly as an unwilling host to a demon.
In what is apparently a bald lovelessness, Jesus' disciples offered to send her away, and Jesus claimed she did not belong to Him.
Yet the woman's faith-filled response to dismissive comments appeared to melt Jesus, and this Canaanite mom received her heart's desire. Jesus had kissed her tears.
Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment. (Matt 15:28)
Jesus does not send anyone away for their constant appeals - even if they are not His own, for He sees the faith behind their tears.
(This true story can be found in Matt 15:21-28)
