A Supermarket to the Soul
Soul Snack 91/13 ... A Supermarket to the Soul
The Bible is a supermarket to all souls. It is a smorgasbord of choice and an a-la-carte menu to dine from.
God found it worth His while to preserve His thoughts to feed you.
Our Lord is in the comfort business ~ the bruised reed He will not break, He is a dwelling place for the faint and those He loves He puts in spacious places.
Our Lord is in the defence business ~ a sun and shield to the afflicted, He delivers the needy who cry out to Him and offers His shadow for the weak.
Our Lord is in the restoration business ~ He provides respite beside still waters, cleansing from sin and writes 'this one was born in Zion'.
For a mighty long time the unfailing Word of God has been the supermarket I shop at. There are no checkouts for it is all free; there is no security so you can steal as much as you like and there are no freezers for it is always alive.
Why shop anywhere else?
But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds. (Ps 73:28)
