Bird Theology

Soul Snack 190/10 ... Bird Theology

The pre-dawn skies raged at the already well beaten window pane.

Lashing both the gardens and gum trees was a storm whose fury was just now mildly relenting.

A miserable darkness had settled over my home the previous evening, it was equally miserable as I arose.

There was a distinct solitude at this wee hour from men, but not from the activity of God.

As I took up my accustomed position, I heard afresh the twirping and chirping of the early rising birds. I remained still as I attentively listened and enquired of myself surely you did not really hear birds singing?

Almost instantly yes was my self-reply.

It then resounded through my mind, that even at the end of a long night of storms, in the middle of continuing severe weather, these small creatures could still raise a pleasant tune. Amidst their storms of life, that I was protected from, they still sang.

Hmmm ... seems to me there is much to be learnt from birds!

for the LORD has been good to you. (Ps 116:7)
