Life's retreats
Soul Snack 39/11 ... Life's retreats
There are default positions in all our lives. They are the positions of retreat when threatened, they are the curtains on life's window that we draw.
Life's default positions are what we all operate out of. They are learned self-protective behaviours. They are the shield from perceived attack. They are acids to relationships and catalysts to disruption.
These default positions many people are largely unaware of. They are the seed of repeated mistakes and the perceived seat of personal safety. They are rarely healthy.
God never has a fall-back position, a default action that seeks self-protection. He never closes curtains to His life and knows no indulgent need for self-alienation. He raises no shields and He adds no relational acids.
While you may retreat from others, He will never desire to retreat from you. He never needs to and He never wants to.
For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, (Roms 10:12)
