Soul Snack S9/7 ... The Reward Scan
“Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone, for whatever good he does whether he is slave or free." Eph 6:8-9
Often my 13 yr old son is an exceptional help to me. He serves me with wholehearted devotion.
This brings me much pleasure! However, the exceptional nature of his assistance is paralleled by his consistency in seeking rewards. He never aims ‘too high', always a ‘McFlurry' will suffice.
He is most diligent in 'scanning' for all opportunities that may yield reward. His father is far less diligent in the reward provision.
My father in heaven is perfect in providing rewards. He even deliberately informs me about them. He gives me motivation for wholehearted service.
His eyes continually scan His Earth, seeking to reward those who would wholeheartedly do good for Him. Such people He does not withhold His good from.
All my good actions He sees, none go unnoticed. The status of the servant is irrelevant. His rewards are not based on favouritism. It is the whole heart that serves Him. This heart completely belongs to Him. This is what matters to Him. A heart that is interested in Him alone, is interesting to God. Such a heart is interested in God's good, not its gain.
My father in heaven is perfectly diligent in providing rewards. He overlooks no opportunity, and we do NOT have to ask for them. My father in heaven is wholehearted about those who are wholehearted for Him.
