Soul Snack S9/18 ... Visiting God - B
‘ … make the most high your dwelling …' Ps 91:9
The breathtaking wilderness of Canada I adore. The captivation of Loch Ness filtered through a low mist is a rare joy. An Hellenic ale imbibed beside the azure Mediterranean is ‘a must' to be repeated. Yet not even these are as pleasing as where I would dwell!
Daily the world is criss-crossed by the adventurer succumbing to its lure or the enquirer looking for that ‘better' place to live. Routinely friends are visited. Some even ‘stay awhile'. Yet none of this is home! God has issued an invitation to all. His invitation is superior, it is the best! He does not invite us to visit Him. He does invite us to live with Him.
God is not looking for tenants. God does not invite renters who stay for just a set time. (“Renters" approach God in I times of pain and move out in times of peace.) In fact God is neither looking for tenants nor travellers. God is simply looking for permanent residents. He offers the most excellent place to dwell. He is looking for residents now who will stay forever.
God's greatest desire for me is that my greatest desire is for Him.
