Keeping Life
Soul Snack 162/10 ... Keeping Life
Lord you are my dwelling place each morning, and my home every day ...
It is because you have held your arms around me,
It is because your shadow has covered me and
It is because your angels have surrounded me
That the depths of darkness are not my only canopy.
Lord you are my dwelling place each morning, and my home every day ...
You spoke forth strong and mighty words,
You bound the spirit of hopelessness and
You poured heavenly grace into my soul,
You have prevented the tomb from being my only home.
Lord you are my dwelling place each morning, and my home every day ...
If you had tarried,
If I was unimportant to you,
If disinterest at me was found in you,
Then my simple dwelling would be the solitude of death.
Lord you are my dwelling place each morning, and my home every day ...
Yet in a mercy unknown,
In a fierce love I do not understood and
In a heavenly intervention beyond explanation,
You saved my body and did not satisfy the grave.
Lord you are my dwelling place each morning, and my home every day ...
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust." (Ps 91:1-2)
