An intentional meeting
Soul Snack 50/12 ... An intentional meeting
In the glow of an early sunshine, the shimmering water was so appealing; carelessly it danced around an awakening Galilean seashore.
Seven failed fisher-men would not notice this beauty nor observe the water's soothing gentleness.
These seven friends were also unaware of the intent of a risen Jesus standing upon the cool sands, oblivious to His entering presence.
Jesus had both named and nurtured these men for three years, yet His despairing absence was only to be short lived.
These seven lost disciples had returned so quickly to the old ways of fishing; this He would never permit. He had chosen them individually, cared for them exceptionally and equipped them with His permanent presence for three years. He may have been absent for just one week but He would never walk away from His own.
Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the Sea of Tiberias# (Jn 21:1)
Jesus is always most keen to appear to those who belong to Him, (especially if they think He is absent).
Jesus will inconvenience Himself for His own. There are no impediments or hindrances to Jesus achieving this (see also John 20:19).
In fact, His own do not even have to go to Him, for He is already approaching them and waiting for them.
Jesus full and total commitment to His disciples He had nailed publicly at Calvary only a short time previously, this has not changed simply because He rose from the dead.
