Soul Snack 9/151 ... Alive in hell!
The inner din of a hangover destroys the morning after. The pleasureable indulgences of a pain blurred memory now obscured from his present reality.
This seedy soak again reviling his habit, himself and his humanity, is in no fine place of well-being now.
The touching glance of his daughter and the mellow air moving across him went completely unobserved. He had been surprisingly yet sufficiently wise to place his yellow plastic bucket beside him.
Yet again his daughter slinks away unconsciously aware that this is no time to approach daddy.
The indulgent preceding evening has now rewarded him with the customary reward - an empty wallet and another empty day. There was both slow recovery and family alienation as always.
They would leave him to his torturous pursuit of sobriety. They played, engaged and even loved each others' company without him. This they had generously and graciously learned over time.
There is no 'Exit' sign in hell.
Last night he had pursued the world - this morning he had lost it again.
