Peeking into Heaven
Soul Snack 118/13 ... Peeking into Heaven
In a passionate conversation between a man sentenced (within hours) to horrible death and His apprentices, Jesus explains:
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. (Jn 15:15)
No disciple can plead misinformation or no information. Jesus has not left His followers uninformed, ignorant or in the dark.
No plea of a dull mind, deaf ears or a silent God is available when I fall before the Lord's throne. How life works and how heaven operates has not been withheld from me. Plea bargaining in heaven is as absent as evil.
Jesus has not constrained Himself or His knowledge from me - He has shared completely. This is how I walk in the light, learn what Jesus learnt and listen to what He taught. In His sharing with me I am elevated from a servant to a brother, from an employee to a family member.
As Jesus' friend He has now cast open the windows of heaven and flung wide its doors that I may too peek in.
Today's Soul Snippet:
Jesus died to replace human distance with divine presence.
