Enlivening the senses and engaging the mind are the attractions of today. Coupled with the promises of tomorrow, desires are multiplied and the flesh is geared for pursuit.
Lapses of spiritual attention, indeed walking only on the shoulders of the path to righteousness, contribute to a shallow faith rather than a satisfying faith.
Yet as I gaze at the star enhanced evening skies or as my feet plod through ankle deep crystal clear streams my heart wants to claim heaven.
It is an unexpressed blessing to have learnt to yearn for the things of heaven alone.
I now know this - no longer do I want the things of 'here', I only want the things of 'there'.
