Leonard's Light
Soul Snack 204/13 ... Leonard's Light
Pride has come and gotten in the way of my life. It has stolen my life from me. Pride is a thief.
Pride has formed me into an imposter, a charlatan. It has deceived my soul, imprisoned my spirit and made a ship-wreck of my days. Pride has scuttled too many of my relationships.
Pride is the deadliest of sin and the most difficult to see. It is the sister of self-promotion, and neither delivers good. Both spill out evil.
Pride cascades self-love across me in an anointing of Biblical proportions. This is to the expense of all others within my orbit.
Pride hardens this heart and blocks my spiritual arteries.
Pride suppresses the true self, but humility will liberate me.
Ring the bells that still can ring,
Forget your perfect offering,
There is a crack in everything,
That's how the light gets in. ~ Leonard Cohen
The movement from pride to humility occurs through the crack where grace gets in.
Simply, the difference between a proud person and a humble one is the torturous work of grace.
Today's Soul Snippet:
"The power of the Cross can reach past failure." ~ Wayne Jacobsen
