Goanna lessons!

Soul Snack 9/145 ... Goanna lessons!

The enjoyment of any 'feral feed' was its consuming intention. To seeking its desires and completing its needs the goanna is fully devoted.

Stealthily slidng between the convict hewn Hawkesbury sandstone this aggressive carnivore moved into a shady obscurity. Scavenging its goal and cool its desire.

Goanna's are usually the predators! It is a brave (foolish?) creature that would tackle an adult goanna. Yet when it needs to, it also finds refuge high in trees (or in water) when under threat.

Despite its self-indulgence the goanna can also live in patience, is very rapid to act as required and always has a permanent exit strategy.

Patience is the asset of the mature. Quick movement is the asset of the watchful. And, an exit strategy the asset of the wisely prepared.

Unfortunately and unlike the goanna I want tomorrow today, I miss opportunities while waiting for approval/permission and when preyed upon I still lack an exit strategy.

Satan knows these flaws, but Jesus has deflected them with righteousness.

Christ casts my eyes away from the earth, empowers me quickly to flee sin and invites me to find refuge in Him - He offers Himself as my exit strategy too.

How could a goanna get life so right when I keep getting it so wrong?

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Col 3:1-2
