Hot Faith on a Chilli Diet
Soul Snack 202/12 ... Hot Faith on a Chilli Diet
Moses stood unnerved atop Mount Sinai before the non-consuming flames of heaven. (Exodus 3)
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were fed to the super-heated flames. (Daniel 3:13-30)
Ezekiel, having been ushered into the divine courtroom, gazed into the depths of fire and witnessed a man who looked like fire surrounded by brilliant light. (Ezekiel 1)
God even describes Himself as a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:29)
Heat frequents the pages of scripture and indeed the future of this world.
Faith that is hot, God honors - faith that is not, God judges.
There are portions of scripture that really bring a chilli to my soul. They stir me, make me perspire and even burn me.
This verse is chilli to my soul, what's yours?
I know your deeds, you are neither hot nor cold. I wish you were either one or the other! So because you are lukewarm, neither - neither hot nor cold- I am about to spit you out of my mouth. (Rev 3:15-16)
