A Plea
Soul Snack 193/10 ... A Plea
Today is the day to be different.
Yet yesterday we have offered no sacrifice, sought no righteousness and found fault with others. We have pleaded with God to pour blessing over our burdens while pouring burdens into others.
Today the thinking of this world has become the thinking of His church.
We believe in prosperity but refuse to prosper His kingdom.
We withhold our time from the living God to give it to dead men who wrote dead books about The Living Book.
Our sacrifices are non-existent. In pomp and show we speak with a spiritual eloquence the language of Zion which masks hollow lives, devoid of grace and heaped with judgement of brothers.
Our knowledge has become our salvation and our knees are never worn.
Where is the contemporary Christian who will tear his heart, examine his logs and humble himself before a radical, shaken and saddened Messiah?
Itching ears are scratched by the Tree of Knowledge but the Tree of Life is not even gazed upon.
The priesthood still falls in pride and the absence of pure offerings. A polluted heart is no gift to the Lord, nor are the hands of consuming activity.
Sacrifice is given in stillness and health is only found from heaven.
Today is the day to respond to God's requirements and be different.
