Soul Snack 93/10 ... The Finish Line!
Under the night lights, his rest was easy. A soul at peace, a world at sleep and a heaven alert - 'the planets perfectly aligned. There was a good order to creation and to his world that night.
Supported by the wide vertical trunk of a paperbark tree, the eyes slowly retreated behind his noble eyelids. Thankfulness on his mind delivered a body at ease.
Reflections of humbled gratitude circulated this relaxed mind. Plans for tomorrow never quite made it into his consciousness. Thankfulness for today simply prevailed. The blanket of sleep descended without further notice, upon this weather-beaten stockman.
The balm of a tender, light-spotted, evening sky had anointed his grateful soul. The dew of the misty morning would also anoint his refreshed body.
Gratitude is the most powerful engine to cross each day's finish line with.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Col 3:17)
