Boating with God
Soul Snack 222/13 ... Boating with God
Life's changes and chances whip waves across our decks, tears at our sails and snaps our masts. So often, even we as our ship's captain are too impotent within the storms, except to hang-on.
Steer the ship of my life, good Lord, to your quiet harbor, where I can be safe from the storms of sin and conflict. Show me the course I should take. Renew in me the gift of discernment, so that I can always see the right direction in which I should go. And give me the strength and the courage to choose the right course, even when the sea is rough and the waves are high, knowing that through the enduring hardship and danger we shall find comfort. ~ Saint Basil of Caesarea#
Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart that I may fear your name. (Ps 86:11)
I now know that to pray this prayer places a new captain at my ship's helm.
